PUCA non-invasive surgical robot platform

PUCA (Pulsed Ultrasonic Cavitation Ablation) is a non-invasive, non-radiative and non-thermal tissue ablation technique based on ultrasound and real-time imaging guidance.

The PUCA non-invasive surgical robot platform uses pulsed ultrasonic cavitation ablation, which is the world's first non-invasive, non-thermal, radiation-free tissue ablation under real-time image guidance.

PUCA is a revolutionary technological breakthrough, which is fundamentally different from traditional focused ultrasound (HIFU). It generates high-frequency and low-duty-cycle ultrasonic energy through millisecond pulsed ultrasound, and stimulates the boiling and explosion of nano-scale tiny bubbles in target tissue cells. Realize the cavitation, liquefaction or subcellular fragmentation of tumor tissue in vivo without affecting the surrounding normal healthy tissue.

The application prospect of this technical product is very broad have great prospects

Limitations of Today's Oncology Tomor Therapy

Many existing cancer treatments have limitations. Most cancer treatments are invasive, either with surgery to remove the tumor directly; or through biopsy to inject drugs (such as: cryoablation, brachytherapy, radiofrequency ablation); or through non-invasive systemic therapy (such as: hormone therapy, immunotherapy, chemotherapy, targeted drug therapy); or radiation therapy (high-energy X-rays or proton beams such as gamma knife, particle radiation). The only non-drug and radiation-free tumor treatment modality is focused ultrasound HIFU, which was approved by the FDA in 2015, but is currently only used for prostate cancer and uterine fibroids.

  • Surgical surgery

    Intrusive, risky and expensive

  • Minimally invasive ablation

Ablation borders are difficult to control, dead tissue remains in place as necrotic lesions

  • Radiation Therapy

There are many collateral damages, usually at the expense of affecting surrounding healthy tissue and pathways, and the course of treatment is longer, more expensive, and the incidence of side effects is higher.

  • Ablation therapy

Focused ultrasound energy provided in the form of HIFU elevates the focal point temperature to the temperature of thermal inactivation of cells and tissues (60~65°+). The reliance on thermal effects has many limitations: thermal damage is caused in different layers of tissue; it is difficult to monitor in real time with ultrasound, but the cost of focused ultrasound treatment with MR monitoring is high; inactivated tissue after thermal ablation remains as necrotic diseased tissue In situ, it takes a long time to dissolve and heal.

Main feature

  • Non-invasive ablation, zero radiation, green and safe

  • Ultrasound-guided, visualized surgical procedures. PUCA system®, the microbubbles generated at the focus point appear as bright echo spots on the ultrasound imaging feedback, which is convenient for real-time monitoring

  • Cavitation effect, thermal effect control, hemostatic effect. With the PUCA System®, the tissue ablation and hemostatic effects work simultaneously. The ablation area is hollow and heals faster

  • Simplify the surgical process and change the treatment process. Zero-radiation environment for patients and doctors, it may even be possible in the future to perform treatment directly in the outpatient clinic
